The Early Shift Chatterley Whitfield
(Contains 15 photos)
Chatterley Whitfield is a magnificient example of what remains of the once thriving Coal mining industry of North Staffordshire. My grandad worked here and me and my sister used to play around the mine when we were younger. I was fortunate enough to secure a place on the recent open day. It really is like stepping back in time 30 years.
Tunstall Pool 252a Tunstall Pool
(Contains 24 photos)
Dating back to 1885 Tunstall Pool is a victorian building situated in the north of the city. The centre is a grade two listed building which has kept many of its original features including poolside changing cubicles and viewing gallery. There’s also a meeting room and a dance studio which offers a variety of exercise classes. Unfortunately the pool closed its doors in May 2011 and despite the best efforts of the local people, the campaign to keep it open was unsuccessful. R.I.P. Tunstall Pool - So many happy memories.

Potters Holidays
(Contains 59 photos)
'Potters' love their holidays and traditionally during late June and early July was when Stoke on Trent virtually closed down and most people flocked to the seaside for their annual holidays. Time passes by and trends change and the British seaside has become a victim of the cheap package holiday abroad. We all still love the seaside and its sad to see some of the buildings that were once the hotspots fall into disrepair or boarded up waiting for a second chance. With rising fuel prices and global warming maybe, just maybe the seaside will reign once more.
